Angel Nevárez Ríos - ARTIST

Angel was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He has a BA, from the Escuela de Artes Plásticas de P.R., a MFA from the University of New York at Buffalo and also has postgraduate studies in Literature from Centro de Estudios Avanzados of Puerto Rico & Caribe. A prestigious cathedratic professor of the Painting Department at the renowned Fine Art School "Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico", for more than 35 years. Throughout the many years in the art business, he appears in the art history books of his country, recorded acknowledgments and a wide variety of recognitions. Angel Nevarez has participated in innumerable individual, collective, national and international exhibitions.  His artistic proposals, through the years have been based on painting, engraving and sculpture, predominantly abstractionist and in essays and stories prevail a poetic, philosophical and surrealist atmosphere.
